Unbox and Inspect
Open the sealed packaging and confirm tamper-evidence (no broken seals, torn stickers, or unusual marks). If the box looks suspicious, stop and contact official support before connecting the device.
Welcome. This page guides you step-by-step to initialise your hardware device safely and securely. Follow each step carefully, keep your recovery words private, and verify any on-device prompts before proceeding.
Open the sealed packaging and confirm tamper-evidence (no broken seals, torn stickers, or unusual marks). If the box looks suspicious, stop and contact official support before connecting the device.
Connect the device to your computer or mobile using the official cable. Only use the cable shipped with the product or a verified replacement — avoid unknown third-party cables that could be malicious.
Your device will display an initialization wizard. Complete the process using the device buttons — never rely on software to type or reveal your private keys for you. The device screen is the source of truth.
Carefully write your recovery phrase on the provided card or a strong metal backup. Keep this recovery secure and never store it digitally. Anyone with the recovery phrase can control your funds.
Create a unique PIN code that you will remember. Do not reuse PINs from other accounts. If your device supports a passphrase, consider it only after understanding the extra responsibility that comes with it.
Confirm that the device shows a matching wallet fingerprint or account address when you send a small test transaction. Use the smallest amount practical for your test.
Store your written or metal backups in separate secure locations. Consider redundancy (two geographically separated, safe places) and plan who will be able to access them in case of emergency.
Never share your recovery phrase, never enter it into a website or app, and never take a photo of it. Beware of phishing sites imitating official pages — verify the URL, use bookmarks, and enable 2FA for associated accounts.
Q: Can I store my recovery in cloud storage?
A: No. Cloud or digital storage is easily compromised. Always store physical backups or hardened metal backups.
Q: What if I lose my PIN?
A: The PIN is recoverable only with the recovery phrase. Keep PIN memorable but unique and keep your recovery safe.
